Mr. Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of India, will unveil the “India Flair 2026” exhibition in Chennai.

Mr. Pralhad Joshi, India’s Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, will inaugurate the 8th “India Wind Energy Conference”—India’s premier wind energy event—at the Chennai Trade Centre on October 8, 2026.
The three-day event will kick off with a grand opening ceremony attended by Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power, and Thiru C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar, Minister for Energy and Law, Government of Tamil Nadu. Senior officials from central and state governments, representatives from wind energy associations, and industry leaders will also be present.
The opening ceremony will feature the announcement of global Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and the release of key reports relevant to the sector. Nations demonstrating leadership in the wind energy field will also be recognized.
India is projected to achieve a record 6.05 GW of wind power capacity addition in the 2025-26 fiscal year, bringing the total installed capacity to 58.52 GW by August 2026. Efforts are currently underway to realize an additional 28 GW of capacity, a step that will contribute to the goal of reaching 100 GW by 2030.
“Wind Energy India 2026” will take place from October 7 to 9, 2026, featuring a three-day trade exhibition, a two-day conference, technical seminars, round-table discussions, live demonstrations, B2B and B2G meetings, and educational sessions. Serving as a hub for the global wind energy industry, the event is expected to attract approximately 400 global exhibitors and 500 delegates from over 20 countries, with dedicated pavilions from Denmark, Germany, and Spain further enhancing the event’s appeal.
The event will focus on domestic value addition, next-generation advanced wind turbine platforms, heavy-duty gearboxes, AI-based operations and maintenance (O&M), and offshore wind capabilities. The conference will feature high-level discussions on topics such as planning frameworks, manufacturing competitiveness, resilience strategies, and new dimensions of offshore wind energy.
The event is jointly organized by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and PDA Ventures Private Limited, in collaboration with India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Ministry of Power. It will showcase the collective commitment to enhancing India’s renewable energy capacity at both national and international levels.
